Chalet Shanida is tucked away in the beautiful Lotschental - a relatively unknown, unspoilt Swiss Valley.

As beautiful in summer as in winter, the chalet offers the perfect location for a winter sports or a summer walking holiday. Or maybe you simply want to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings.

Easily accessabile from either Geneva, Zurich or Bern, the valley is an ideal location for anything from a long weekend to a month long holiday.

The Lotschental valley includes the villages of Ferden, Kippel, Wiler, Reid and Blatten, is famous for its original buildings which date back to the XV century. The area is renowned for its magnificent views and its summer walks along the Wanderweg of the high alps, nicknamed by the Swiss as the garden of Switzerland for the abundance of flora and fauna.

Lotschental is situated in the centre of Switzerland and forms part of the high Alp range. Many of the peaks within the area are over 4000m high.

The area is renowned for its climbing school and their new centre which has recently been constructed. There are numerous mountain huts within a day's walk, some of which are manned throughout the summer season.
